Raised in her grandmother's brothel, Piaf was discovered in 1935 by nightclub owner Louis Leplee, who persuaded her to sing despite her extreme nervousness. Piaf became one of France's immortal icons, her voice one of the indelible signatures of the 20th century.

This captivating biographical film about the legendary French singer Édith Piaf  was met with widespread critical acclaim for its powerful storytelling and stunning performances. La Môme garnered numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards for Best Actress for Marion Cotillard and Best Makeup. It also received five César Awards, including Best Film and Best Director, cementing its place as a great achievement in French cinema.
