About The Instructor:
Sumaira Mohammed Ashik is a Dubai-based contemporary abstract and Arabic calligraphy artist, best known for her signature fusion of metallic textured abstracts and spiritual calligraphy compositions. Originally from India and an electronics engineer by qualification, Sumaira always carried a deep love for art -a quiet passion that eventually transformed into a professional journey of creativity, purpose, and Identity.

After moving to the UAE, she began experimenting with Arabic calligraphy out of curiosity - initially recreating Quranic verses by hand. Over the past seven years, this curiosity evolved into a calling. Through self-study, relentless practice, and deep appreciation for the form, Sumaira learned classical scripts, explored materials and mediums, and slowly carved out her own unique artistic language.
